I'm trying to be the first kind, but mostly I am the third kind. I kinda wanna punch the people of the second kind in the face - turn off your damn TV news and DO SOMETHING about it! And I mean do something positive, constructive, and effective, not just bitch about it.

I just thought this up once while biking around and trying to figure how to explain why ideas are so important in the project.
- Albert Einstein
It really should have been extended or explained. That the not doing anything about it is just living a normal life, indirectly supporting and assisting those who are evil. Unfortunately, many people want to support them, because they profit from giving that support, and just feel it is the fault of the evil people.
I have combined these... just seems clearer.
"Of all said words, of tongue and pen, the saddest are these : what might have been." Silver Spoons 1x21 abt. 23:30.
"Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'"or"For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been.'"
? John Greenleaf Whittier

I see this as a reference to blending in to different society and transmitting original foreign culture to one's offspring. I feel very strongly about immigrants, such as the European colonists in America, and non-European immigrants in Europe.

For me, others means everyone else. This reflects one of my basic morals/principles.
I'm not sure how I thought this up or when. (Originally it was "a new toy robot".)
Modern Family S5E21 abt. 20:20.
I like this quote, and kind of vaguely remember this, but I really can't remember the show, characters, or anything about it. And I have multiple quotes from "Modern Family". I'll check that out later, but first fix the world.
Kind of stupid maybe, and I am against people (including myself) being fat, but eating crap that doesn't taste good just because it is low calorie or whatever just seems strange. We eat for vitamins, minerals, and calories. Just vitamins and minerals ain't enough. And yes, I know, "ain't" ain't a word. Too bad.
I wrote this statement at some time, probably very frustrated about the usual chit-chat.
Many times when I mention something that I am concerned about or working on in the project, I get an egotistical chit-chat answer that the other person is trying to put me down, and make themselves the better. And then they just babble some non-sense, and expect me to react as though that is great.
Sorry, but nobody has, and probably never will impress me with crap they make up on the spot.
Please see my descriptions about quality information.
The "to your name" part can also include quoting or referencing someone else's text, and just that you agree / adopt that as your own opinion/etc. as well.
I thought this up originally in Dutch (as I do many things) as follows. Actually, my own bad version of Dutch.... I need lessons desperately!
"Met geduld en vriendelijkheid is het mogelijk een wedstrijd te winnen; met ongeduld en boosheid ben je zeker jezelf te verliezen."
To be clear, I meant that with impatience and anger you might win the race, but at a price.
- John F. Kennedy
This is a clear reflection of the sheep syndrome. See also my topic sheeple, and the community topic sheeple.
"A revolution is coming - a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough - but a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not." "We can affect its character, we cannot alter its inevitability." John F. Kennedy
I don't know what revolution he was talking about. This kind of applies to any revolution. But when I see this, it seems like it is referring to a new revolution in the u.s.a..
"Freedom is not worth having if it does not connote freedom to err. It passes my comprehension how human beings, be they ever so experienced and able, can delight in depriving other human beings of that precious right." Mahatma Gandhi

"It's a beautiful world(For you)It's a beautiful world(Not me)"
lyrics from a song by Devo
Beautiful World
"Why can't you just make a decision? The future is yours. It's not theirs. It's not gods. It's not anyone's who presumes to own you or the thoughts that make an original"
Lyrics from "Feel It" by Full Scale.
"Every singe from the fire of globalization, you're warming your hands on the bodies of children that learn so that McDonald's can jack their yearly gross earnings"
"It is not what happens to you but how you respond to what happens to you."

I find this applies not only personally, but also in groups (like countries).
"O' GREAT SPIRIT
Help Me AlwaysTo Speak The Truth Quietly,To Listen With An Open MindWhen Others Speak,And To Remember The PeaceThat May Be Found In Silence."
Cherokee Prayer

"And America is a mess indeed! Makes me realize how wealthy and prosperous Holland is. The difference is mind boggling yet very interesting."
- A Dutch friend visiting internet friends in the u.s.a. - started an email with this.
He is seeing the difference from the other direction than me. Two really different worlds.
And others have seen this too. It really depends on where you go, and what you do. As a tourist, the u.s.a. looks great. But live there a while, or stay with not-so-rich friends, and you see what the u.s.a. is really like. Pretty much true of other countries as well, except the Netherlands (Holland) and a few other countries. Some places, it's just "always" great.
Most people that have told me about being in the u.s.a. were there as tourists, so it is hard to explain what it is really like. A few others lived there, but in wealthier places, good job, and more materialistic people, so to them it's nice.
This is my own translation.
I got this from eenvolgendestap.nl.
The original Dutch text (translated probably from something else) :
"Het is gemakkelijk de fouten van anderen te zien, maar moeilijk de eigen fouten te herkennen." – Boeddha -

- Anne Frank
- Leo Tolstoy
Was originally "Yesterday's failures build tomorrow's successes."
Those who succeed without failure, have set very easy goals. Or are super human.
How true this is. I speak the truth and people don't want to agree or acknowledge in anyway, and just focus on changing the subject - usually to about themselves.
Not sure where I got this or if I made it up. I don't think I did. But fits in well anyway.
Not sure where I found this originally. Later I found presented on the internet as a quote from Dalai Lama #14.
This reflects my principle.
From : http://plasticbank.org/cant-solve-problems-using-kind-thinking-used-created
This would not necessarily be true, that is to say, debateable.
But I think the point is fairly obvious.
To me the thinking used when creating the problems, is thinking of one's self (profit). We need to think about the security of the future, and put that foremost in our thoughts, and not worry about self.
I don't think I've heard that anywhere. I was thinking about expressions and what did I know in Dutch or English about people who whine about something and replying "if you don't do anything about it" kind of thing. I was on a thread something like "if you try, you have a chance", then questioned chance, and try more is greater chances.

Just thought this up sometime ago.
Thought this up some time ago, found in notes.
not sure who from
If I remember right, I first heard this from my Dad.
It is also in NCIS S9 E5 about 2:50 min.
I originally heard this as "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail", but a search turns up this quote.
‘If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!’ Benjamin Franklin
“There are times in our lives when we have to realize our past is precisely what it is, and we cannot change it. But we can change the story we tell ourselves about it, and by doing that, we can change the future.”
